Becoming a Consultant

Consultant interviews are often very different from those you may have experienced during the trainee recruitment process. There will be several different activities, which could include:

  • Informal visit to the department/meet the staff
  • Meeting with the Medical Director/Chief executive
  • Group activities
  • Presentation
  • Panel interviews

There is a sample video of consultant interviews here which also contains some handy hints. There are some general application tips about interview skills and presentations here.

You may be asked to produce a medical CV as part of the process and a good guide is contained here.
