Dr Sheona MacLeod graduated from Glasgow University and trained as a GP in Paisley. She moved to Derbyshire at the end of her training, and was a GP in Ashbourne for 25 years. She also worked in the local community hospital, as an occupational health advisor and as a medical officer for HMP service.
She has been involved in local healthcare education since moving to Derbyshire. She worked for East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery from 2002, as a GP tutor, Programme Director and Associate Postgraduate Dean and became GP Dean in 2009. She became acting Postgraduate Dean in April 2012 and was appointed as Postgraduate Dean for Health Education East Midlands in September 2012.
